Reverse description Central device consisting of the crowned Saxon arms — a rounded shield barry of ten or and sable with a bend of crancelin vert — displayed within an ornate cartouche. The shield is surmounted by a ducal crown of elaborate form. Flanking the cartouche are two decorative sprays: a palm or acanthus branch to the left and a laurel or olive branch to the right, tied together at the base with a ribbon bow. The date 1774 is divided by the crown in the upper field, with '17' to the left and '74' to the right. The denomination and fineness statement XX· EINE FEINE MARK· is distributed around the lower portion of the design, indicating that twenty such coins were struck from one fine Cologne Mark of silver.
