The surrounding circular legend reads COMMUNIS MONETA SAXONI[AE] DG DUCUM HENNENBERGENSIS, executed in Latin capitals separated by rosette stops. A beaded inner border frames the armorial design, with the outer rim exhibiting fine reeding from the original minting. The small oval or punch-style Cologne countermark bearing the legend C O L N is struck into the field, validating the coin for local circulation. |
