| Obverse description | Central ornate oval cartouche bearing the arms of the city of Chur: a fortified gateway with two flanking towers and a lion passant in the archway, above a portcullis. The shield is framed by elaborate baroque scrollwork and foliate mantling, with a grotesque mask at the apex. The surrounding circular legend, separated from the central device by an inner beaded border, reads MONETA:NOVA:CIVITATIS:CVRIENSIS with the date 1633, and is enclosed within a milled outer rim. |
