Obverse description Central ornate oval cartouche bearing the arms of the city of Chur: a fortified gateway with two flanking towers and a lion passant in the archway, above a portcullis. The shield is framed by elaborate baroque scrollwork and foliate mantling, with a grotesque mask at the apex. The surrounding circular legend, separated from the central device by an inner beaded border, reads MONETA:NOVA:CIVITATIS:CVRIENSIS with the date 1633, and is enclosed within a milled outer rim.

Reverse description A displayed double-headed imperial eagle with both heads turned outward, each surmounted by a separate crown, with an imperial crown above uniting the two heads at center. The eagle's wings are spread wide, the breast plain, and the talons visible at the base amid decorative scrollwork. The surrounding circular legend reads FERDINANDVS·II·D:G:ROM:IMP:SEM:AV, referencing Emperor Ferdinand II, Holy Roman Emperor, enclosed within a beaded inner border and a milled outer rim.
