⅔ Thaler - Charles William

Anhalt-Zerbst was one of the smaller Anhalt partition principalities, and Charles William ruled it from 1667 until his death in 1718 — a reign long enough to produce several distinct coinage phases. The ⅔ Thaler denomination, sometimes called the Gulden, proliferated across the fragmented German states during the 1670s largely because the full Thaler had become impractical for everyday commerce, and the Leipzig Foot monetary convention of 1690 had not yet imposed any order on the mess. Each petty prince minted to his own standard.

KM#19 represents the earliest of Charles William's silver issues from Zerbst mint.
