Obverse description Draped and armored bust of Adolphus Frederick IV facing right, with powdered wig tied at the nape. The effigy is rendered in high relief with fine detailing on the cuirass and lace cravat. A circular Latin legend runs along the periphery reading ADOLPH FRID D G DUX MECKLENB, separated from the field by a milled border.

Reverse description A crowned oval quartered shield bearing the arms of Mecklenburg-Strelitz, displayed at center within a decorative frame. The date 1773 is divided at the top of the legend, flanked left and right by the circular inscription referencing the convention standard. The mintmaster's initials IHL appear at the bottom of the field, with the denomination 1/3 inscribed below the shield. The legend reads NACH DEM CONVEN·TIONS·FUS.
