1/3 Thaler - Adolph Frederick

Swedish Pomerania's coinage in 1763 falls squarely within the aftermath of the Seven Years' War, during which Pomeranian territory had been occupied by Prussian and Russian forces at various points, severely disrupting local administration and minting activity. The resumption of normal issue under Adolph Frederick marked a reassertion of Swedish administrative control over a province it would lose entirely to Prussia just over a decade later, in 1815.

The Stralsund mint handled production for this series. Ahlström's cataloguing of Swedish Pomeranian coinage remains the definitive reference for attribution within this narrow and often overlooked provincial series.
