A figure finial surmounts the helm at top center. The mintmaster's initials CP appear in the field to either side of the shield. The circular legend MONETA*NOVA*CIV*MAGDEBURG* runs around the periphery in Latin capitals. |

The motto, meaning 'The Word of the Lord endureth forever', was a common Protestant device on German coinage of the period. |
