Obverse description Central device comprising two heraldic shields side by side, each bearing the arms of Zürich (per bend sinister azure and argent with a lion counterchanged), supported by two rampant lions facing inward and each holding an olive branch above the shields, all within a rope-edged inner circle. The surrounding field is plain, and the circular Latin legend MONETA NOVA REIPVBLICÆ TIGVRINÆ runs along the outer border between the rope border and the coin's edge, separated by pellets.
