Reverse description Stag standing to right, rendered in profile with naturalistic detail, the name of the magistrate Athenes inscribed across the field in two lines. The entire design is contained within a shallow incuse square, a hallmark of early Thracian coinage from Abdera. The inscription identifies the eponymous magistrate responsible for the coin issue, following the standard civic coinage practice of the city.
