| Beschrijving keerzijde | A coiled serpent, the sacred snake of Asklepios, depicted in high relief within a shallow incuse square. The serpent is shown in a tight upright coil with its head raised toward the upper right, a motif strongly associated with the healing cult centred on Kos. The ethnic legend ΚΩΙΩΝ appears vertically to the right of the serpent, and the magistrate's name ΑΝΘΕΣ is inscribed vertically to the left, both in crisp Greek capitals. The incuse square border is clearly defined, consistent with Hellenistic hammered coinage technique. |
