Obverse description Warrior striding to the right in archaic style, depicted in profile and wearing a helmet, carrying a large round hoplon shield on his left arm with the boss prominently rendered in relief. The figure's musculature and posture reflect the early Classical Archaic artistic tradition. The field is plain and the flan is irregular, characteristic of early hammered silver coinage from Lesbos.

Reverse description Horseman galloping to the right, depicted within a dotted rectangular incuse border, rendered in the early Classical style. The rider sits astride the horse with both figures shown in dynamic motion, the horse's legs extended in full gallop. The incuse square with beaded border is a hallmark of the early coinage of Methymna on Lesbos, providing a stark contrast between the raised design and the recessed field.
