The god is depicted youthful and beardless, with wavy locks of hair falling on either side of the face. He wears the characteristic petasos, the broad-brimmed traveler's hat associated with Hermes, adorned along the brim with a row of small pellets. The portrait fills the flan with commanding presence, exhibiting the high artistic quality characteristic of Ainean coinage of this period. |

| Descrizione del rovescio | A male goat stands to the right in profile, rendered with fine engraving detail typical of Ainean silver coinage. In the lower right field, a race-torch is depicted as a secondary symbol. The entire design is set within a recessed incuse square, a hallmark of early Greek coinage technique. The ethnic inscription AINI appears within the incuse square, identifying the issuing city of Ainos in Thrace. The composition is characteristic of the principal reverse type employed by Ainos throughout the late fifth and early fourth centuries BC. |
