| Beschrijving keerzijde | Deep quadripartite incuse square divided by two perpendicular raised bars into four recessed compartments of roughly equal size, characteristic of early Archaic coinage of Ionia. The incuse is sharply struck and occupies the majority of the reverse field, with the surrounding flan surface left plain. Each quadrant displays a slightly rough, granular texture resulting from the hammering process. No legend, device, or subsidiary type appears within the incuse. This purely geometric reverse type is typical of the earliest phase of Greek silver coinage from the region. |
