| Obverse description | Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Emperor Maximinus I facing right, depicted from the rear in the characteristic three-quarter back view. The emperor's radiate crown of laurel wreath and military paraphernalia are rendered with provincial workmanship typical of Thracian civic coinage. The circular Greek legend runs along the entire periphery of the flan, enclosed within a border. The portrait conveys the emperor's well-known robust physiognomy, consistent with provincial representations of Maximinus Thrax. |
