Reverse description A large eagle stands facing on a base or groundline, its head turned to the right and wings spread dramatically in a heraldic display. The bold, finely engraved plumage is rendered with strong relief typical of the Tomis civic mint. The Greek legend encircles the type in the field, reading from left to right around the periphery, with the denomination mark Δ (four) positioned to the lower right of the eagle, denoting the tetrassarion value.
Reverse script Greek
Reverse lettering ΜΗΤΡΟ ΠΟΝΤΟΥ ΤΟΜΕΩϹ, Δ
