Aanvullende informatie

Bargasa was a minor Pisidian city whose civic coinage essentially ceases after Gallienus — this issue falls near the end of a municipal minting tradition that had already grown sporadic. The magistrate name Diodotos preserved in the obverse legend is one of the few pieces of administrative evidence surviving from the city at all. Pisidia's inland civic mints were increasingly squeezed out during the military crises of the 250s and 260s, as bronze coinage became harder to justify locally when the empire itself was fracturing along its frontiers.
