The visage displays wild, serpentine hair radiating outward around the face, with deeply set eyes rendered frontally, a broad flat nose, and a slightly open mouth. The treatment is archaic in character yet vigorous in execution, consistent with late fifth-century Sicilian bronze coinage. No legend or inscription appears on this side. |

| Beschrijving keerzijde | A fish depicted horizontally in profile, occupying the central field, with three pellets arranged above — the three pellets serving as the denominational mark of the tetras (one-third litra). Below the fish appears the partial civic legend IME in Greek characters, representing an abbreviation of HIMERAION, the ethnic of Himera. The design is spare and functional, typical of the small bronze fractional coinage issued during the final years of Himera before its destruction in 409 BC. |
