| Obverse description | Heavily Celticised head, derived from the prototype of Herakles, facing right, rendered in pronounced low relief with a characteristically abstract Celtic artistic idiom. The hair is depicted as a mass of large, globular pellets arranged in rows framing the cranium, while the facial features are reduced to smooth, bulging planes with a barely defined eye and jaw. A curved, leaf-shaped element — likely a stylised vestige of the Heraklean lion-skin — is visible behind the neck. The field is plain and uninscribed. |
