| Beschrijving keerzijde | A quadripartite incuse square, raised in relief and divided into four triangular sections by diagonal grooves, occupying the central field within a broader shallow incuse square. The magistrate's name ZENODOTOS is inscribed in Greek letters distributed across the four quadrants of the incuse square, reading ZHN-OΔ-OT-OΣ, a characteristic feature of Abderite civic coinage identifying the issuing magistrate. The incuse technique reflects the archaic die-sinking tradition common to northern Aegean mints of the fifth century BC. |
