| Beschrijving keerzijde | Zeus Aëtophoros enthroned left on a stool-throne without back, his right arm extended and supporting an eagle with closed wings, his left hand grasping a long sceptre. In the left field, the Greek letters ΠΟ appear above a sphinx seated left upon a horizontal amphora, serving as the civic badge of Chios. The magistrate's name ΞΟΥΘΟΣ is inscribed in the exergue. The legend ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ runs along the right field, identifying this as a posthumous issue struck in the name of Alexander III the Great. The composition adheres closely to the canonical Alexandrine reverse type while incorporating the distinctive Chian control symbols. |
