| Obverse description | Youthful beardless head of Heracles in right profile, enveloped in the scalp of the Nemean lion, with the beast's muzzle projecting over the forehead and its paws knotted at the throat. The modelling of the face is fine and vigorous, with a clearly articulated ear and naturalistic curling hair visible beneath the headdress. The whole is set within a beaded border typical of Hellenistic Alexanders-type coinage. The type follows the canonical posthumous Alexander portrait established at the royal mints and widely adopted by civic issuers across the Greek world. |
