| Reverse description | Zeus Salaminios depicted standing facing, his body in a frontal position with head slightly turned. In his extended right hand he holds a patera for libation, while his left hand grasps a long scepter; an eagle, the sacred bird of Zeus, is perched upon his right wrist. The deity is rendered in the Hellenistic tradition associated with the celebrated cult statue of Salamis, Cyprus. The reverse legend in Greek is distributed around the figure within a beaded border, recording the regnal year designation. |
