Reverse description A Celtic horseman advancing to the right in a vigorous, semi-rearing pose, depicted in the abstracted La Tène artistic tradition derived from Macedonian coinage. The rider is schematically rendered with a large globular body, and wears a crested helmet; the reins are indicated by a vertical line between rider and horse. The horse is shown in a dynamic gallop with elongated, stylized legs terminating in pellet-shaped hooves, and a small annulet is visible beneath the horse's neck area in the right field. The field is otherwise plain, and the flan retains the characteristically irregular edge of a hand-struck Celtic issue.
