Reverse description Zeus Aëtophoros enthroned left on a low backless throne, his right arm outstretched bearing an eagle with closed wings, his left hand grasping a long sceptre rising vertically behind him. In the left field, the monogram ΑΡ appears above a sphinx seated left atop a horizontally placed amphora, serving as a Chian civic badge. The magistrate's name ΤΙΜΟΚΡΑΤΗΣ is inscribed in the exergue, and the ethnic legend ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ runs along the right field, identifying the issue as struck in the name of Alexander III the Great.
