| Beschrijving voorzijde | Celticised head of Dionysos facing right, rendered in a strongly abstracted barbarian style derived from the Thasian prototype. The deity wears an ivy wreath, depicted as a series of raised pellets and schematised leaf forms atop the head. The facial features are boldly modelled with a prominent nose and simplified eye, characteristic of late Celtic die-cutting. The hair is rendered as a mass of loose, curling locks falling behind the neck, with individual strands indicated by deeply cut parallel lines. The field is otherwise plain, with the flan showing typical irregular hammered fabric. |
