Obverse description Bust of Kore Soteira facing left, her hair bound in a sakkos; the effigy is adorned with a pendant earring and flanked by ears of grain, symbols of fertility and divine protection. The legend ΣΩΤΕΙΡΑ (Soteira, meaning 'Saviour') appears in the field, identifying the deity. The portrait is rendered in fine archaic-transitional style characteristic of late Classical Asia Minor coinage.
