Obverse description Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Septimius Severus facing right, rendered with fine detail including a short curled beard characteristic of his portraiture. The emperor wears a laurel wreath and a paludamentum fastened at the shoulder, visible at the truncation.
