| Obverse description | Helmeted bust of a heroic figure facing right, the helmet covered with a panther skin adorned with a bull's horn and ear — a composite iconographic type assimilating Seleukos I Nikator with Alexander the Great and Dionysus. A panther skin is knotted around the shoulders of the figure. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded border. The imagery deliberately conflates royal, divine, and heroic attributes to project the legitimacy and grandeur of the nascent Seleucid dynasty. |

Control symbols or monograms appear in the field to the left and right of Nike, varying by die variety. The royal legend is disposed across the field in two lines of Greek script. The composition is characteristic of the victorious dynastic imagery employed by the early Seleucid coinage at Susa. |
