Obverse description Youthful head of Herakles facing right, wearing the Nemean lion skin headdress knotted at the base of the neck, in the Macedonian tradition inherited from the Alexander-type coinage. The portrait is rendered in high relief with finely detailed musculature and flowing mane, set within a plain inner border typical of early Seleucid issues. The field is smooth and unlettered, consistent with the obverse convention of this series.
