| Descrizione del rovescio | Zeus Aëtophoros enthroned left on a stool-throne, his draped body shown in three-quarter view; his outstretched right hand supports an eagle with spread wings, while his left hand holds a long sceptre. A bee appears as a control symbol in the left field, and the letters AY serve as an additional control mark below the throne. The Greek legend ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ runs along the right and upper fields, identifying the coin as struck in the name of Alexander the Great, in accordance with Seleukos I's early monetary policy of continuing Alexandrine coinage types. |
