The design is heavily degenerated into a series of horizontal parallel lines representing the hair or wreath, with angular and curvilinear elements suggesting the facial features reduced to abstract geometric forms. A rosette or pellet grouping is visible in the upper field, characteristic of Eastern Celtic die-cutting traditions. The imagery reflects the progressive barbarization of the Hellenistic prototype over successive generations of Celtic coining.
