| Description de l’avers | Idealized diademed head of Ptolemy I Soter facing right, rendered in the Hellenistic portrait tradition with flowing, elaborately curled hair secured by a broad royal diadem. The effigy is adorned with an aegis at the neck, its characteristic scaly texture and serpent border clearly delineated, serving as a divine attribute linking the ruler to Zeus and Alexander the Great. The portrait displays the strong, slightly fleshy features characteristic of Ptolemaic dynastic imagery, with a well-defined jaw and prominent nose. The field is plain, with no exergual line or additional devices, the entire obverse surface devoted to the commanding royal portrait. |

| Description du revers | A large eagle with powerful, folded wings stands in left profile atop a single thunderbolt, the primary emblem of the Ptolemaic coinage tradition. The bird's plumage is rendered with fine detail across the breast and wing feathers, and its talons grip the thunderbolt firmly. To the left of the eagle, the Greek royal legend is inscribed in two vertical lines reading ΠΤΟΛΕΜΑΙΟΥ ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ, and to the right appears the regnal year in the form LΛΓ (Year 33) with the mint control letters ΚΙ denoting the Kition mint in Cyprus. The composition is characteristic of the standardized Ptolemaic reverse type established under Ptolemy I and continued throughout the dynasty. |
