| Description de l’avers | Diademed effigy of Ptolemy I Soter facing right, rendered in the Hellenistic portrait tradition with thick, curling hair radiating from the diadem. The king wears an aegis at the neck, a distinctive divine attribute associating the ruler with Zeus and Athena. The portrait is boldly modelled in high relief, with strong facial features characteristic of Alexandrian die engraving. The field is plain, with no surrounding legend, the obverse being entirely devoted to the royal portrait. |

| Description du revers | A powerful eagle stands left atop a fulmen (thunderbolt), wings closed and head turned slightly forward, rendered with detailed feathering across the body and wings. A filleted sceptre or control symbol appears to the left of the eagle. The circular Greek legend ΠΤΟΛΕΜΑΙΟΥ ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ runs around the periphery, reading 'of King Ptolemy.' The regnal date LΛ (Year 30) and the mint control mark ΠΑ for the Alexandria mint appear in the left and right fields respectively, providing precise chronological and geographic attribution to the reign of Ptolemy VIII Euergetes. |
