Obverse description Diademed head of Ptolemy I Soter facing right, rendered in the idealized Hellenistic portrait style with voluminous, flowing hair swept back from the forehead. An aegis with fine scaled detailing is draped around the neck, a distinctive dynastic emblem identifying the royal lineage. The portrait is executed in high relief with carefully modeled facial features including a strong brow, straight nose, and firm chin. The field is smooth and unlettered, with the design contained within a plain border of beads along the coin's periphery.
