The beard and hair of Serapis are rendered in layered, wavy locks characteristic of his Hellenistic iconographic tradition. The regnal year notation flanks the bust in the field, with the date symbol L to the left and Є (year 5) to the right. The coin's broad flat field and the bold central device are typical of late Alexandrian tetradrachm production. |
