Obverse description Laureate and cuirassed bust of Emperor Probus facing right, rendered in the typical Alexandrian provincial style with a bearded portrait and layered cuirass visible at the shoulder. The imperial effigy is encircled by a dotted border. The Greek legend runs around the periphery of the field, identifying the emperor by his full titulature. The portrait displays strong individual characteristics consistent with the mature Probus coinage of the Alexandrian mint.
