The hair is depicted in stylised, bulbous curls or ringlets framing the face, reflecting the La Tène artistic tradition. Facial features are schematically rendered, with a broad nose and simplified eye, demonstrating the progressive Celticisation of the original Macedonian prototype. The neck is robust and the truncation is unadorned. The overall treatment is bold and plastic, typical of the Burgenland Celtic coinage series. |
