Obverse description Draped bust of a female divinity — likely Hera or a nymph associated with Eretria — facing right, rendered in fine Hellenistic style. The hair is elaborately waved and dressed, drawn back from the forehead and falling in undulating locks behind the neck, adorned with a wreath or stephane. A small earring is visible, and to the left of the bust, partially visible, is a serpent or similar symbol in the lower field, consistent with iconography associated with Euboean civic types. The portrait displays the high-relief modelling characteristic of mid-second century BC Greek coinage.
