Obverse description Laureate head of Zeus facing right, rendered in high relief with finely engraved curling hair and full beard characteristic of the mature Olympian deity. The wreath of laurel leaves is elaborately detailed, encircling the head with naturalistic precision. The portrait displays the idealized yet powerful physiognomy typical of Macedonian die-engraving of the mid-4th century BC, with a prominent brow, deeply set eye, and strong jaw. A beaded border encircles the coin's edge. The field is plain, with no legend on the obverse.
