Obverse description Griffin sejant to left, with raised foreleg and prominent spread wing rendered with finely incised feather detail, set within a beaded border. The creature is depicted with a leonine body and avian head turned to the left, the wing arching dramatically above the body. The composition fills the flan with vigorous sculptural energy characteristic of late fifth-century Thracian mint engraving.
