Reverse description Eagle standing right upon a thunderbolt, wings spread open in heraldic display, a powerful symbol of Macedonian royal authority. To the right in the field, a Σ (sigma) control monogram is visible. The entire central design is enclosed within a fine olive wreath border. The royal legend ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΠΕΡΣΕΩΣ, meaning 'of King Perseus', is arranged in three segments around the eagle, identifying the issuing monarch.
