正面描述 Laureate head of Apollo facing right, rendered in fine late Classical style with finely detailed wavy hair bound by a laurel wreath. The effigy displays a youthful, idealized profile with a well-modeled nose and lips, characteristic of the skilled die engravers working for the Paeonian royal court under the influence of contemporary Macedonian coinage. The field is plain and unlettered, with no legend present on this side.

附加信息

Patraos ruled the Paeonians as a client of Macedon yet struck coinage aggressive enough in scale and quality to suggest real fiscal ambition — his tetradrachms were produced in volumes unusual for a tribal kingdom of Paeonia's size, almost certainly enabled by access to the silver mines of the Astibos valley. The mint attribution between Astibos and Damastion remains contested; the Paeonian Hoard find assemblage has done more to sharpen the argument than resolve it.

His reign coincided precisely with Philip II's consolidation of the northern Balkans, a relationship that was as much coercive as cooperative.
