Obverse description Diademed, beardless bust of Pacorus II facing left, depicted in the characteristic Parthian royal style with an elaborately tiered and curled hair arrangement surmounted by a diadem with visible beaded ends trailing behind the neck. The king wears a torque at the throat and a draped garment with a decorative collar visible at the truncation. A Greek letter alpha (A) appears in the left field behind the royal effigy, serving as a control mark. The portrait is rendered in fine Hellenistic tradition with strong facial modelling.
