Obverse description Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Numerianus facing right, rendered in the characteristic late Roman provincial style of the Alexandrian mint. The laureate wreath is rendered with bold, stylised leaves, and the drapery over the left shoulder is indicated by incised lines across the cuirass. A Greek imperial titulature legend encircles the effigy within a beaded border. The portrait, though somewhat schematic in execution, conveys the imperial dignity typical of third-century Alexandrian tetradrachms.
