| Obverse description | Diademed head of Nikomedes II Epiphanes in right profile, rendered in fine Hellenistic style with carefully articulated curling hair bound by a royal diadem, the ends of which fall behind the neck. The portrait is youthful and idealized, with smooth facial features characteristic of the Bithynian royal coinage. The effigy occupies the full extent of the broad, slightly convex flan, with no encircling legend on this side. |

| Reverse description | Zeus Nikephoros standing facing, head turned to left, his nude figure rendered in Hellenistic style. He extends his right hand forward holding a wreath, while his left hand grasps a long scepter resting against his shoulder. To the left of the figure, an eagle stands atop a thunderbolt, above which appears a royal monogram. The royal legend is disposed in two lines flanking the central type, identifying the issuing king by his epithet and name. |
