The figure of the rider is rendered in low relief on the hammered copper flan, with the horse's legs extended in a prancing gait. A Kharoshthi legend encircles the central equestrian device, reading 'maharajasa tratarasa nikiasa', the Prakrit equivalent of the Greek obverse title 'Saviour King Nicias'.
