Obverse description Bare, unlaureate head of Emperor Nero facing right, rendered in the Hellenistic portrait tradition with fleshy features, thick neck, and characteristic wavy hair swept forward over the brow. The effigy is boldly modelled in high relief against a flat field, with a slightly protruding chin and prominent ear visible. A partial Greek legend runs along the left periphery of the flan, identifying the emperor by his full titulature. The irregular flan is characteristic of the provincial hammered coinage of Crete under the Julio-Claudian dynasty.

Reverse description Standing figure of Zeus facing left, draped in a himation that covers the lower body and left shoulder, his right hand extended holding a thunderbolt and his left hand grasping a long sceptre. Seven stars are scattered across the field, and an eagle stands to the left, a hallmark of Cretan Zeusian iconography referencing the sanctuary of Zeus on Crete. The composition reflects the deeply rooted local religious tradition of Zeus worship, blending imperial Roman authority with Hellenistic divine imagery.
