| Reverse description | Pegasus standing left with head lowered to graze, depicted in fine Hellenistic style with naturalistic musculature and folded wings. In the left field, the Pontic royal badge of a star-in-crescent appears above a control monogram. To the right field, the regnal year BIΣ (year 212 of the Pontic era, corresponding to 85 BC) is inscribed above a second control monogram. In the exergue, the letter Z denotes the month of issue. The entire reverse composition is enclosed within a Dionysiac wreath of ivy leaves and berries. The encircling legend BAΣIΛEΩΣ MIΘPAΔATOY EYΠATOPOΣ runs around the design. |
