| Reverse description | Pegasus grazing to left, depicted with naturalistic musculature and wings folded against the body, the head lowered as if feeding. In the left field, the distinctive Pontic royal badge of a star-in-crescent is prominently placed. To the right of Pegasus, the regnal year BIΣ (year 212 of the Pontic era) appears above a royal monogram, with the month letter Γ inscribed in the exergue below. The entire type is framed within a Dionysiac wreath composed of ivy leaves and clusters of fruit, a characteristic feature of the Mithridatic tetradrachm coinage. The Greek royal legend BAΣIΛEΩΣ MIΘPAΔATOY EYΠATOPOΣ runs around the design. |
