Obverse description Youthful diademed head of Mithridates VI Eupator facing right, rendered in the Hellenistic portrait tradition with flowing, wildly curled hair radiating dramatically around the head, a crescent symbol visible above and behind the crown of the head. The effigy displays idealized, god-like features — a strong aquiline nose, full lips, and an alert eye — deliberately recalling the iconography of Alexander the Great and Helios. The diadem is tied at the nape of the neck with ribbon ends falling behind, and the bust terminates at the lower right with a visible drapery edge. The portrait is executed in high relief with exceptional artistic quality, typical of the Pergamene mint's finest Hellenistic die-cutting.
